Requirements will be to research source data, prepare text, determine illustration requirements, develop written material and edit material for technical manuals; primarily operator’s and field maintenance manuals, for military vehicles and equipments. Oversee the development and integration of art and text during publishing to ensure proper integration of art and text in a logical, accurate, and easy-to-ready format; will work with logisticians, provisioners, engineers, and other technical personnel throughout the manual development process. Provide desktop publishing support in the production of technical manuals, repair parts lists, and other technical publications. Use a variety of applications and software to input text, import art (graphics and/or halftones), keyline art, and format text and art for the production of print technical manuals (TMs) and/or electronic TMs (ETMs). Operate related office equipment such as printers and scanners. Produce CDs, .PDF files, and .TIF files as required. Follow in-house style guides as well as government specifications and standards.
May be assigned collateral duties in support of on-going program(s).
Some overtime and/or LOCAL travel may be required on a sporadic basis.

Duties: |
Education:
Masters Degree in an appropriate discipline; or Bachelors Degree with four (4) years experience in the field of specialization; or significant experience of six (6) years or more.
Prior military TM experience a plus.
Experience:
Must be able to lead and/or work in a team environment with customers, other Technical Writers, Logisticians and other personnel to complete assigned tasks.
Must have working knowledge of PC’s to include working with Microsoft Office and Adobe software products. Working experience with Arbortext, EMS NG or EMS-2 IETM software a plus.
Must keep working records and files of all material and data used to develop technical data.
