                                                                                              Job Summary

The Juvenile Detention Case Management Specialist 1 serves as the primary case manager in the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility. The Juvenile Detention Case Management Specialist 1 is responsible for providing case management services to the residents to ensure that the resident has maximum exposure to constitutionally mandated services and other programs.

 

 

Required Tasks

  • Provide orientation to new residents.
  • Counsel residents and contacts parents, legal guardians, and attorneys.
  • Conducts group sessions with residents.
  • Enter resident data into JAIS computer system.
  • Complete assessments, progress notes, etc., required by child welfare licensing.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work or other related human service area.

Experience Requirements

  • At least one (1) year of experience in child welfare, juvenile justice, mental health or other setting providing services to youth and families.
Special Conditions:
  • Candidates must receive MDHHS clearance as well as Child Protective Services clearance.
