Purpose/Description

In the County Clerk's Office, the Records Management Assistant 1 will file court cases and vital statistics documents and other correspondence, i.e. cards, invoices, receipts, and other records, in alphabetical or numerical order or according to the filing system used. The Records Management Assistant 1 will also locate and remove material from file as requested.

Required Tasks

  • Accept and retrieve file requests via phone and fax.
  • Deliver items described above via fax or scan e to the following locations daily to include Civil, Criminal and Juvenile Court Services division, Vital Statistics, the Court of Appeals, Juvenile Detention Facility, and other locations as needed.
  • Perform microfilm research and printing.
  • Perform records management of a complex filing system by receiving, sorting, and distributing files and documents.
  • Purge documents as needed.
  • Track and control inventory.
  • Maintain a clean warehouse.
  • Ensure shelves are properly labeled.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience/Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

A Written test will be administered covering knowledge of general office/clerical procedures and related knowledge.

NOTE: Candidates may be considered for higher level positions based on additional years of experience and/or a chauffeur's license.
