Description

The Youth Intelligence Specialist will be a proficient Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) Investigator, specializing in monitoring and analyzing the social media activities of youth involved in the justice system. The primary responsibility is to identify and mitigate risks associated with harmful behaviors and violent crimes. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of social media platforms, advanced investigative methodologies, and adherence to policy, legal, and ethical standards.

Required Tasks

  • Create and maintain online personas.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of Open-Source Intelligence and social media activities of select individuals.
  • Conduct investigations while maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive information from unauthorized access.
  • Utilize advanced tools and methodologies to research, gather, analyze, and document digital evidence from social media platforms.
  • Monitor and track online interactions, posts, and personal media to identify potential risks and threats.
  • Complete administrative duties including but not limited to; documenting/tracking statistics, preparing weekly/bi-weekly/monthly reports, overtime and budget tracking.
  • Act as a liaison between Electronic Monitoring Personnel, Care Management Organizations, and various Law Enforcement units.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, law enforcement staff, and other stakeholders to address and prevent youth related crimes.
  • Present collected risk/threat assessment data to team members, law enforcement partners, and other stakeholders in a clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Remain up to date with the latest trends and developments in social media and digital investigations.
  • Manage multiple investigations at once with limited supervision.
  • Perform additional general and administrative duties as assigned to achieve team and project objectives.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in any field, with a preference for Intelligence Analysis, Digital Forensics, Criminal Justice or related field and 3-5 years practical experience in social media investigations/analysis, digital forensic or related experience, OR
  • Master's Degree in any field, with limited equivalent practical experience OR
  • Master's Degree in any field, with a preference for Intelligence Analysis, Digital Forensics, Criminal Justice or related field or, 3-5 years practical experience in social media investigations/analysis, digital forensics or related experience AND experience conducting open-source intelligence research.
